Tune-up’s
What does a tune-up entail and how often do I need one? That is a question we often receive. This is our tune-up process:
We check the spark plugs performance, components and wires. We replace the actual spark plugs.
We check the fuel filter for clogs and dirt.
We look at the engine’s fuel pump and make sure its working right. We inspect the engine’s fuel injectors for dirt or other deposits that may hamper fuel delivery to the engine and affect how the spark plugs fire.
We adjust the engine timing and idle if necessary.
We check for clogs or leakage in the PCV valve.
We inspect the vehicle’s points and condenser.
And only when necessary we may need to replace air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, oil filter and clean out the fuel system.
When your vehicle needs a tune-up just depends on wear and make/model recommendations. Our technicians will let you know what your vehicles tune-up recommendations are.
State Inspections
Northwest Express Auto Care is a licensed Texas State Inspection Station. We perform a comprehensive safety inspection and, if your vehicle requires it, an emissions test.
Recently Texas changed the inspection and registration process. Make sure you are up to date by going to the government link. Our technicians will also be more than happy to get you up to speed on the new process.
